Hello. This is Alan Gresik. Welcome to my new website.  As an experienced
orchestra leader and pianist I can provide exciting musical ensembles to fit any budget.

Back in 1983 while attending music school at North Texas State University, I discovered the newly donated music library of 14,000 staff orchestra arrangements which were used by radio station WFAA in Dallas, Texas. What started out as an experiment with my first swing band “Big Al’s Hot Dance Orchestra” (1983-85) my journey into becoming a full time musician had started.

Since then, my current band, the Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra,
has evolved into one of Chicago’s top musical units. Since 1998, we
have been the house band every Thursday at the Green Mill Lounge the world’s oldest jazz club and have unlimited access to the huge
Balaban and Katz theatre orchestra collection of 26,000 musical arrangements. In the 1999 we were signed with MGM to appear in the motion picture “Return To Me” starring Bonnie Hunt, David Ducoveny and Carol O’Connor.

Although our specialty is vintage 1930s and 40s swing music, we also have the flexibility to perform classic rock standards and are a great choice for theme parties, corporate functions and weddings.
